A Confession of Victory Over Fear
By Pastor Pete Norris

Demons of fear and torment are attacking many. Jesus said that in the last days, men's hearts would fail them for fear.

Luke 21:26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken)

Fear is a tormenting spirit.

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Read Psalm 91 several times. Let it sink into your heart as you meditate upon it. Make the confession with me. Surely no day should pass without you boldly knowing this confession so well that you can repeat it anytime and anywhere.

God, by the power of his word, will lift you to a plane of victory where every trace of fear and torment will be banished.

Psalm 91:1-16 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shall thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. 5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; 6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. 7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. 8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because thou hast the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; 10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. 11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. 12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. 13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. 14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

In the last three verses of this beautiful Psalm, God gives us 7 promises. There promises are contingent upon one fact: that we set our love upon him.

1) He will deliver us.
2) He will set us on High.
3) He will answer us when we call upon him.
4) He will be with us in trouble.
5) He will honor us.
6) He will satisfy us with long life.
7) He will show us His salvation.

Oh Father, as I come to you today, I come with your word. I will not confess anything that is of the Devil or of the world. I will not let pass from my lips that which would grieve you or harm me, but I will put your words within my lips and confess them at your great throne. I know that words can be destructive or they can be strength for those who walk uprightly. I choose to speak your words, Father, because they are life. Your Word is eternally settled in heaven.

God said to Joshua, the great deliverer;

Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein : for then thou is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

King David said, Psalm 91:2 I will say of the Lord, he is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, Jeremiah 23:29 Is not my word like as a fire? saith the Lord; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

Mary, the mother of Jesus said, Luke 1:38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

Therefore, I say, let it be unto me according to your word. I take your word and not only put it in my heart but I will speak it with my mouth.

I confess this Psalm to you today. I confess that I dwell in the secret place of the most High. I abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Lord, this is my dwelling place! It is not where I visit once in awhile. I declare that I dwell in the secret place of the Most High. I thank you, Father, that in this wicked world in which I live there is a secret place. Speak these words several times a day until you get them in your spirit and are determined where you live in the secret place.
