Success IN-GOD
By Pastor Anita Norris

Last month we talked about God wanting you to be successful in every area of your life. We learned that we can become fruitful in every area of our lives by applying the "four F ' s" of fruitful living. We expounded on the first two fruit, which were: (1) Stay focused and (2) Stay fixed. These "four F's" produce certain qualities in you that can lead to the type of success described in Psalm l:1-3 -- “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” Now let's discuss the other "two F's" of fruitful living.

Be Faithful

Luke 16:10 -- "He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

Verse 12 in Luke 16 continues, saying, "And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?" You see, if we are faithful in small things, then God can trust us later with greater responsibilities.

So learn to be faithful in the little things, like attending church. Don't just stay home because you feel a little bad or you only got a few hours of sleep the night before. If people can go to work when they don't feel good because they need the money, we ought to be just as faithful when it comes to the things of God!

We must be faithful concerning the things of God. Be willing to do whatever your hands find to do, then do it faithfully to the best of your ability! It's so important to be faithful, because you are planting seeds. If you plant faithfulness, you're going to reap faithfulness; but if you plant unfaithfulness, that's what you're going to reap. So make everything you do for the Lord a learning experience and be faithful. Then, as you develop a lifestyle of being faithful, you're going to be fruitful!

Be Fruitful

Finally, as you stay focused, fixed, and faithful, I guarantee that you will become fruitful. You may not see the fruit of your focused, fixed and faithful living immediately, but it's no different from how God causes a natural tree to produce fruit. A fruit tree doesn't bear fruit as soon as it's planted. But if you continue to cultivate it and expose it to the right elements, in time, it will blossom and bring forth fruit. A large tree may have a huge trunk, but it started out as a tiny seed. And that is how the success that comes from God is. People can see you prosper, but they don’t realize it's the product of godly character which is developed as you grow in Christ.

You see, the first three “F's" of fruitful living are like little seeds that have the potential of producing fruit in your life. The fourth "F" is the fruit. But you have to plant the seeds in your heart and water them with the Word of God. Then you'll need plenty of sunshine (constant exposure to the light of the SON) in order to grow.

Fruitful living is a process. If you'll keep focused, stay fixed, and continue to be faithful to what God has called you to do, before long, you'll develop strong spiritual roots that go deep in God and provide the foundation for fruitful success. Then you'll be like that tree planted by the rivers of water (fruitful and prosperous in all that you do)!
