How to Press in to Receiving Your Miracle By Pastor Pete Norris |
|
The deep things of God have to be searched for. We have to press in to receive our miracles. We must get rid of ourselves and move spiritually to a place to receive a revelation from God. People all over the world are quoting scriptures and nothing is happening. Everything in the Bible is alive but it has to get in our spirit to become “real” to us. We have “pet scriptures” that we quote, but God has to speak a rhema Word to us. John 6:63 -- “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing; the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” Our flesh does not have anything to do with it. Nothing will happen until we act. We have to put some action behind our quoting. Quoting scripture is the easy part. A rhema Word is something that is alive in the spirit man, goes past the head’s intellect, and becomes an abiding Word in us. A rhema Word “lives” in us. When God speaks a rhema Word to us, it becomes alive to us. Words will become alive when they are spoken out of our spirit. People are speaking words but they are never coming to pass because they do not come out of the heart or spirit. The more we confess something, the more we believe it. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word. There are no quick fixes in this thing. There is no good in the flesh. What has God been speaking to us? The Words that He speaks to us are the only thing that will work for us, not what He speaks to others. We are trying to watch others speak and get their results but we have to speak what is alive to us. When God speaks something to us, we should act on it right then. When we speak what is alive to us, it is just like God speaking it. When we speak out of the spirit, the words will shake things and change people. When we got saved, we were changed from dead men to alive in the spirit. The Words God speaks are resurrection power. Why do we not have a fresh revelation any more? Everything came on the day of Pentecost. Now, we have to make things happen. The Words God speaks are spirit and life, but if we do not get in His presence, He cannot speak Words to us. When God gives us a spoken Word about the written Word, we have something different. When it is no longer written but is said, it makes a difference. In Luke Chapter 4, Satan said that “it is written.” But Jesus said “it is said.” There is life in God’s Word. God is a “now” God. It is not what is read that will deliver us, but what God speaks will deliver us. People read the Bible every day and get no revelation. People can quote the Bible but they are not walking it out. We should not listen to those who have no fruit in their lives. It is time for fruit to follow people around. It is time for this thing to become real in us. When we know God, He will be a “now” God. We had better get on our faces before God. When He speaks a Word to us, we know that what we need is coming. If we could get hold of this truth, we would press in and get our miracle. We would not let anyone talk us out of believing. People with no vision get mad at those who have one. When the written Word becomes the spoken Word, it becomes alive to us. When God speaks a revelation to us, we should speak it out of our mouths. A lot of words we speak out of our mouths are dead because they come out of our heads. If there is no quickening, then there is no power. The devil will let us quote the entire Bible as long as it does not get real to us. When we know that we know something, we will act upon it because we know it is coming. Romans 10:17 -- “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” We have to hear the Word over and over and meditate upon it. The things of the world will take us away from our meditation. If we are feeding garbage into our spirits, it will draw us away from God. We cannot just say we have something; we have to feel it inside of our spirits. Matthew 19:26 -- “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” Nothing can keep us from getting our stuff. God does not say we will get the things we ask for, but He says they are possible. Mark 9:23 -- “Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” If those things that are impossible are not happening, then we must not be believing. Believing means “possessing” or “taking.” We tell people that we are saved but do not tell people that we are delivered, healed, etc. Church should be a place where we release the anointing of God. We do not have to beg or cry for God to do something. All we have to do is believe. When problems come, we forget about the Word and call somebody to cry to. God is the one who will deliver and resurrect us. Luke 1:37-38 -- “For with God nothing shall be impossible. And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.” No Word from God is without power and it must be fulfilled. Mary said to let it be done according to what God said. Our knowledge of the scriptures does not deliver us. It is the Spirit. We should say the scriptures God speaks to us over and over. The Word is what keeps us living. Satan tries to kill us but the Word keeps us alive. This is how we stay fresh and know Jesus. This is how things manifest in our lives. If we leave the Word, we have nothing. Joshua 1:8 -- “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein; for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” There is power when someone gets a revelation and a Word from God. We settle for “no” too easily. “No” is not part of God’s vocabulary. The word “no” died when we died. God does not tell us “no” if we abide in Him and He in us, and when we ask according to His will. When we meditate upon the Word day and night, we will prosper in every area of our lives. If the Word can be taken out of us, someone will do it. We should refuse for anyone to take our dreams, etc. John 15:7 -- “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” Rhema Words become alive in our spirits. Abide means that the Words become alive in us. We try to run away from the thing that is drawing us to God because we are afraid of giving up our independence. We need to trust in Jesus. Ask means “to make a demand legally upon the Word.” If we have burdens, it is because we are not willing to leave them with God. What are we doing with what is on the inside of us? Why do we take God’s Word and not believe it? Why do we have a hard time believing that God wants us to walk in health and to prosper? We are living in the spirit realm and we can shape our destiny. The devil cannot kill us. The Word is life because the Word is Jesus. When we speak to a situation, it is like Jesus speaking, not us. We are a reflection of Jesus. When we speak the Word, it is life flowing out of us. Proverbs 18:21-- “Death and life are in the power of the tongue...” Condemnation is not a part of our lives if we are a child of God. We make a mistake and the devil wants to keep us beaten down. We are full of God. A person who is informed in the Word, has a revelation of the Word, and is praying the Word will know that they will receive what they are asking. II Corinthians 4:13 -- “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak.” Paul had a spirit of faith. He got it by hearing the Word of God. He was reading what was written for it to speak to him and give him the spirit of faith. He had to read it before he believed and spoke it. We speak what we have read. Many people read the Word and speak it but do not believe it. We have to believe in our spirits (hearts). When the written Word becomes alive and we speak it, it becomes quickened (alive). Isaiah 55:11 -- “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth; it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” The Words we speak shall not come back void. What we speak will go out and accomplish what God intends for it to do. When God speaks a Word to us and we release it by the spirit of faith, it is our act of faith. If we do not speak what He has spoken to us, it is because we do not believe. He has not asked us to make something happen. He has just asked us to speak it. The Words God speaks to us will probably not be life to someone else. We cannot live off of a preacher. We have to have a Word from God. Our attitude decides our altitude. If we believe that which has been written, then we speak that which we have heard. God can speak a Word to us that will help us in one situation but that same Word may not help us in our next situation. We have to have a fresh touch. When we are going through situations, we do not have to go through them as long as we do. When all hell comes, we have to have fellowship back in order before we can pray the results. We have to take up our cross daily and crucify the flesh. What does church mean to us? To most people, it is a time of coming clean with God, coming and going through a service, and feeling like we have done something good. We should never be in a service that God does not speak to us. If He does not speak to us, it is because we are not listening. Jeremiah 1:12 -- “Then said the Lord unto me, Thou hast well seen; for I will hasten my word to perform it.” Perform in Greek means “when we speak the Word of God out of our mouths, God travels with that Word because the Word is God.” God is wrapped up in our words to perform what we have properly spoken. Colossians 2:9-10 -- “For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.” We are complete in Christ. There is nothing broken, nothing missing and nothing lacking. Hebrews 4:12 -- “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” The Words of God are alive so why are we trying to act like they are dead? John 2:3-5 -- “And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.” Whatever God says to us, we should do. Jesus returned in the power to Galilee where He turned the water into wine. His mother told the servants to do whatever Jesus told them to do. When no one seems to care about us, God will speak a Word to us and we shall be delivered. If we will press in, we shall get our miracle. In Genesis Chapter 32, Jacob wrestled with the Lord all night. He received a blessing and his name was changed to Israel. When God touches us and speaks a Word to us, we are no longer the way we used to be.
